What do the Knights of Columbus do at Holy Family?

As knights, we have a great opportunity to serve the parish in our activities and charitable works.  In the last few months alone, our council has raised and given funds to Catholic Charities ($5000), our baby bottle drive to help with prolife activities (about $3000), our Tootsie Roll drive for those with intellectual disabilities (over $12000), in addition to our pancake breakfasts and spaghetti dinners that raise funds for a large number of charities.

In the month of November, we were asked to sponsor a fundraiser for the Daily family.  I was very proud of the response of the council and the eagerness with which they said yes.  The dinner was a great success: we served over 530 people spaghetti, and more after that had pizza. Thanks to everyone’s generosity and support, we were able to raise over $7000 for the Daily family! A big thank you to our crew, led by Jerry Creighton who worked all day preparing food for more than 4x our regular crowd, and to all the Holy Family staff, adult and student volunteers who helped set-up and bus tables.  Nick entered into eternal life the following Friday.  The council offers our condolences and prayers for Nick and his family.  It was a blessing to be able to serve.
